Why Affari English Tutoring?
Hi, I'm Roger Humphries.
After graduating with a B.Ed. Degree from Canterbury Christ Church University, I worked for ten years as a Primary School Teacher in South London and Surrey before moving to the Manchester area, where I taught for over 20 years.
I gained my M.A. in Educational Leadership and Management at Edge Hill University in 2010.
Just before the Covid lockdowns, I took my TEFL tests and started teaching online.
That was when I first started teaching adults. There was increased demand during the lockdowns for teachers to teach English to adults.
Every day in school I had taught the type of English that EFL students need, sentence structure, grammar, pronunciation and speaking to an audience.
Most of my work was with European professionals who needed English for work in multinational companies – making presentations, running meetings, succeeding in interviews.
